HistoricalMullet: Saddam Possibly Caught

Details coming out at a 7 a.m. news conference.

There have been false alarms in the past, but hopefully, this one is legit. Catching Saddam would qualify as a “really good Christmas present” in my opinion. It’d weaken the Baathist-led resistance which is one of the three resistance factions in Iraq, and long term we could put him up for a war crimes trial. Long-term winning the war of terrorism is about winning the war of ideas, and the idea that the rule of law prevails over the rule of terror is one of the biggest. Fingers crossed

It’s official. Interesting points coming out of the news conference:

Saddam doing a passing impersonation of an Arabic Santa Claus was dug out of the bottom of a hole in a mud hut on the outskirts of Tikrit.

No shots were fired, no resistance was offered, and apparently, he is talkative and cooperative.

The codename of the operation was Red Dawn and the two primary location targets were Wolverine 1 and Wolverine 2; some Gen-Xer’s influence no doubt on the naming of this.

Paul Bremer stated, and I quote, “Woot!”.
